McGill Environmental Systems (Ireland) Ltd. was established in 1997 and is part of a group of McGill companies that includes two industrial-scale compost manufacturing plants in the U.S. McGill-Ireland specialises in the composting of non-hazardous industrial sludges and biosolids, waste fruit and vegetables, and other non-hazardous biodegradable materials. McGill will compost any biodegradable material provided it meets regulatory requirements and McGill's own materials acceptance criteria. THE McGILL PROCESS. McGill's proprietary composting process utilises a controlled static pile, forced aeration system. The process takes place completely indoors, and composting takes place year-round, independent of weather conditions. Incoming materials are mixed with amendments and placed in bays designed to facilitate high-rate, temperature feedback composting. This state-of-the-art process ensures energy and cost efficiencies, is odourless, and has no negative environmental impacts. The resulting compost is distributed for use in agriculture, landscaping, forestry, biofuels, and other markets.
