McGill Soil Builder compost

This premium compost is the ideal topdressing, soil amendment or mix ingredient.  The loose, even texture is free from chunks of wood or bark and has perfect moisture content — not too dry or soggy. Deep brown in color and with a pleasant earthy aroma, this is compost for people who appreciate good soil.

Uses for McGill Soil Builder compost

McGill Soil Builder is a high-quality compost with consistent quality.  It is the base ingredient for all McGill product formulations.

Use for:

  • Sports turf
  • Landscaping and gardening
  • Sediment and erosion control
  • Hay and pasture
  • Commercial fruit and vegetable production
  • Container mixes
  • Manufactured topsoil
  • Landfill cover
  • Constructed wetlands

Why buy topsoil when you can make your own?

Most development projects traditionally start by stripping away topsoil. The remaining subsoil is of inferior quality, often incapable of maintaining healthy grasses and ornamentals. McGill Soil Builder compost provides a cost-effective and successful replacement for that lost topsoil, replenishing the microbial populations and rebuilding the organic matter which make a natural soil system work.

Directions

Soil amendment

1 inch of compost for every 3–4 inches of desired incorporation depth
